CHALLENGE :: The Swedish government wanted to extend the life of its 30-year-old Air Defense radars by another 20 years, but needed a cost effective technical solution.

SOLUTION :: Our Gilfillan engineers conducted in-depth studies of the radars, looking closely at each primary function and flow-down. Multiple visits to Sweden and consultation with technicians who had designed the original radars, allowed Gilfillan to understand the engineering inside and out. This knowledge, combined with robust design tools, enabled the team to upgrade the radars within the Swedish Procurement Agency’s cost limits.
